Hi friends!
I didn’t get out during the day today, so I made sure to enjoy the warm weather after work. I went for a long walk on the beach in the park and took a few pictures along the way.
Approaching a hill…
My favorite part of the trail right now… it’s like a canopy of leaves and colors. Although, the pollen is so bad right now that I occasionally have to just shut my eyes because they sting so much!
Pretty in pink…
I stopped at the store to pick up some chopped dates. After seeing Ameena’s date muffins, I knew that I had to make them.
Of course I couldn’t leave the store without some Edy’s frozen tangerine bars. Perfect in the heat!
I followed the recipe exactly, and this is what came out of the oven 20 minutes later.
So delicious that I had two! I liked that the recipe kept things simple- there weren’t gobs of anything in it. Not too much sugar, not too much oil… just right. I like getting a date in each bite for a little bit of sweetness!
Have you seen the movie Date Night? I really want to see it- Tina Fey and Steve Carrell crack me up. Hopefully I’ll see it this weekend!
-Laura
With a few exceptions, I definitely leave work at work.
Yum! Those muffins look tasty! And I love those park pictures! I wish I could spend more time outside but my allergies will not cooperate this time of year.
I want to see Date Night too. I pretty much worship Tina Fey.
I’m 99% sure I know what park that is! 😉 So pretty!!
Most of the time I leave work at work, but last night I did the unfortunate thing of checking my work email. Not good, not good.
Those muffins sure do look good!! I haven’t seen date night. I think I’ll wait til the DVD comes out.
So glad you liked the date muffins Laura!
I try to leave work at work but unfortunately my laptop calls out to me after dinner. I know that if I don’t attack my email box the morning will be quite a disaster.
I haven’t seen Date Night or any movie with Tina Fey in it. Isn’t that crazy?
What a nice area for walking!
I try to leave work at work but sometimes I do vent about what happened or have to take a call outside of my normal work hours.
I haven’t seen Date Night! I remember seeing the commercial and thinking it looked cute! those pictures are great! Love the ‘canopy’ picture – very cool! “on the beach” LOL I wish!
I tend to bring work home. I try not to do it though!
Your park pictures are beautiful! It’s always so nice to walk around and take in the beauty of the earth.
Ohhh how I need to live where you live! It’s so pretty in that park!! As I long for spring to REALLY bloom here in Boston, I’m so impatient, I want it now!! Nice job on staying “present” during your walk too. High five 😉
My husband works with all our friends in the same office… work is ALWAYS talked about because there is so much drama with the boss man. It’s so annoying since I’m the outsider.
Just wanted to say hi – miss you!! 🙂
I saw “Date Night” with my dad and I’ve never seen him laugh that hard. Hes a nice guy, but he does not find most things funny. Those muffins look fantastic, I’ll have to try it out sometime!
Yum! These muffins look great…and the tangerine fruit bar sounds fantastic as well! My husband and I saw “Date Night” a few weeks back and loved it. I’d definitely recommend it!
Beautiful pictures! I almost always can leave work at work unless there is some project that I’ve been dreading for days (or weeks in some bad cases…). I do tell my husband the ridiculous customer stories though just because they’re entertaining.
what a beautiful area, the muffin looks good!
It was great meeting you too Laura! We definitely need to do it again!
