It’s been 24 hours since I posted and let me tell you, I’ve taken a lot of food pictures since then! Last night, Tobey and I headed over to Eastland Cafe. It’s a nice little neighborhood cafe that’s always busy and serves great food.

We shared the pizza of the day, and I had a spinach salad. I felt like I was Italy because we had the pizza first, salad second!

The pizza hit the spot- we got it without the olives, since olives are one of the only foods that I don’t like. What food(s) are on your no list?

The crust was thin, but not like flatbread… it had just the right amount of sauce… and they were generous with the toppings. Just the way I like it!

The spinach salad was a lot smaller than I expected. It was okay, but the blueberry dressing and orange sauce didn’t have much flavor, so it was pretty plain tasting.

After dinner, we went home, watched TV, and got a good night’s sleep.

This morning, we stopped at Bongo Java for coffee. I got a cafe au lait with nonfat milk and dark roast coffee.

Then, it was time for brunch at Marche. (We usually go and get coffee while we’re waiting for a table at Marche. ;)) I love this place- it’s in the neighborhood and so wonderful.

We got the pears and camembert on crunchy whole wheat to start.

I pretty much dominated this one… oops… it’s my favorite! They always have a fruit-cheese-toast combo on the menu, but it varies each time we go.

I ordered the crepes with cauliflower, radicchio, onions, mozzarella, and roasted garlic cream sauce.

You can never go wrong by ordering the crepes there- they aren’t exactly light, but they’re so good! I finished about 2/3 of the plate and then passed it to Tobey to finish.

I left Nashville around 4:00- just in time to have dinner with my family! I stopped at my parent’s house on the way home, and my mom made one of my favorites: beef stroganoff!

My portion on the best 70s plate ever:

And a red velvet cupcake for dessert!

Not exactly a light 24 hours of eating, but everything was really good and I’ll get back to normal eating tomorrow. (I laughed as I typed that; I didn’t mean that statement in a “I’ll start my diet tomorrow” kind of way!)

Are your weekend eating habits different from your weekday eating habits? I eat pretty much the same stuff all week- I like to save eating out for the weekends!

It’s the Little Things…

Hey hey! This is going to be a really random post, but I want to tell you guys about two things that I loved today.

So, you’re probably bored with me telling you that “I studied at Starbucks today,” but I have to tell you about what I had for breakfast there… the greek yogurt and honey parfait. Have you tried it yet?

It’s so good! It’s perfectly satisfying and full of flavor. The granola is great… just the right amount and not too sweet. It kept me full for 3 hours or so, which is impressive!

I’m glad that I had a good breakfast, because the weather was just dismal today! It was raining cats & dogs when I took this picture.

You’re about to see that it’s the little things that excite me…

So, I stopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond for a few things this afternoon. I’ve been thinking about adding a Keurig to my Christmas list ever since I fell in love with my sister’s Keurig in October. And that’s where the Nescafe Dolce Gusto comes in…

There was a girl running a Dolce Gusto stand in the store, so I stopped to try a drink. I went into the little demonstration thinking that there’s no way I would like it more than the Keurig, but now I’m torn! Do you have either one of these coffee makers?

I don’t NEED one, but they really are so cool. I normally just brew two pots of coffee in the beginning of the week, pour it into a pitcher, and have iced coffee for the week. Simple, but not that exciting!

Anyway, I tried a latte and it was seriously as good as a latte from Starbucks. I looked at the ingredient lists on the little single cups and they weren’t bad. The machine started at $149.99, but after a $30 rebate and 20% off, it was $95. Not bad!

Do you guys have any thoughts on single-cup coffee makers? Is it worth the investment?

<End randomness>

Have you guys been watching the American Music Awards? The performances have been amazing… they have made taking practice tests so much more enjoyable. 🙂

I hope that you have a great start to the week!
