Easter Weekend

You guys… I finally passed! I don’t know if you remember, but I took a securities licensing exam back in November and failed by one point.

I was scared, stressed, and anxious to take it again. My employer requires this license, so I couldn’t just brush it to the side. So, I took January and February off from studying and started on the new material at the very end of February. I took it on Thursday (April Fools Day) and passed! So, that’s where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with an extra 15-20 hours per week on my hands, but it sure feels good to have that out of the way! 🙂

Anyway, I spent most of the weekend with my family. Tobey and I headed out to my parent’s house on Friday, got massages, and just enjoyed the day with everyone.

My nephew, Colin, is getting so big! He’s almost 5 months old now and has two teeth:

Colin and his grandpa!

First dip in the pool:

Colin and his dad (my brother in law, John):

Lulu got a summer hair cut!

The weather was gorgeous all weekend, which made for some great patio time!

Salmon, green beans, mom’s homeade mac and cheese, fresh strawberries… yum.

And later, my brother got the fire ready for s’mores! I made two… I was in celebration mode all weekend and ended most sentences with “… because I passed.” Obnoxious!

Tobey and dad, deep in conversation over s’mores:

Nothing like starting Easter morning with a yogurt parfait! I used Chobani vanilla greek yogurt, 1/2 of a chopped granny smith, and cinnamon raisin granola to make this.

I’m pretty obsessed with cool, fruity breakfasts and desserts right now. I have been blending frozen fruits and combining them with yogurt like it’s my job. Maybe it’s because the warm weather is finally here?

What’s your favorite summer treat? I love Edy’s frozen fruit bars… I just picked up their acai blueberry bars at the store tonight, which I’m pretty excited to try.

Hi! I started my day bright & early at Starbucks so that I could get some studying done. I’m much more productive in the morning than in the afternoon… are you guys the same way?

This is really random, but last time I was studying was for the Series 7 a year and a half ago. I would come to this Starbucks and study, and I noticed that weekend after weekend, the same people would come in at the same times.

Fast forward to today- I saw some of the same people! Isn’t it funny how people fall into their weekend routines? Is there something that you do weekend after weekend at the same time- coffee shop, workout class, or brunch spot?

I brought a pineapple upside down cake yogurt from home and got some perfect oatmeal. I topped it with the dried fruit and brown sugar.

I also had a tall iced coffee with soy milk.

All together now…

I studied into the afternoon, and that brings me to tonight… I headed out to my parents’ house for the night!

Happy hour before dinner… champagne! It was the smallest glass ever, so I had this x 2:

We headed over to Fusco’s for Italian food… my favorite!

I had the spaghetti bolognese, which came with a mista salad. I used oil & vinegar for the dressing.

The lighting was so dim that I couldn’t get a decent picture without flash for the life of me!

It was so good… you know how bolognese can be hit or miss? The chef really knows what he’s doing on this one.

The girls side! My mom and I:

It’s time for SNL… January Jones and Black Eyed Peas are on tonight! I better hit publish before Lulu steps on the keyboard again…

Good night!
