Hey hey! How was your day?
My day ended on a positive note, so I’m excited to tell you about it! Ever since my gym closed in September, I’ve been interested in joining a yoga studio (in addition to hot yoga).
So, I came up with a little plan- I’m going to make a list of all the studios in my area that have introductory rates, and try them all! After that, I’ll join the one that suits me best. If you’re ever interested in joining me on this little adventure, just let me know. More on the studio that I tried tonight in a minute…
Can you guess what I had for lunch? Field of dreams greens with a Morningstar chik patty and rice & beans from last night, topped with Wishbone light parmesan peppercorn ranch dressing.
On the patio…
When a girl wants a skinny cow, you’ve got to give her a Skinny Cow.
So, Springs Yoga was the first studio to bat on my plan. I went to the the 5:45 Yoga 2 class with David, which is described as “a faster paced, free flowing series of postures. No two classes are exactly the same while exploring new postures that will challenge the body and mind. Invigorating!”
There were about 10 people in the class, which was perfect. I liked the personalized feel of it- the instructor knew my name and helped me make adjustments a handful of times. Hot yoga is always so packed that you don’t really get personal attention (and there is nothing wrong with that), so this was a nice change. Is that the case with hot yoga everywhere? Ashley, I thought of you when we went into headstand. I’m not there yet, but one day. π

Now you guys know why my pictures are blurry… I have a really basic camera! Which camera do you use?

When I went to Atlanta Hot Yoga yesterday, there were at least 30 people in the room. Not sure about the Buckhead location, but the Vinings one has a tiny room!
I have a Canon Powershot.
I don’t think they do adjustments in bikram, I was always told that is what the mirrors are for. But, I’m not really a bikram girl so I can’t say for sure.
Glad you liked the new studio!
Oh, that makes sense. The mirrors are really helpful, but when I try to go further into a pose, sometimes I worry that my alignment is off!
I am lovin’ these post series! I’m so intrigued by yoga and I like the idea of it…I’m just super intimidated by it. I’m so inflexible and have trouble calming my mind…probably all the more reason to give it a try, right?
Are you excited about tomorrow?
Exactly- come try yoga with me sometime! We can pick a new studio, and that way neither one of us will know what to expect.
I’m so excited for tomorrow night… it’s going to be so much fun!
aww yayyy! headstand π i love that you’re trying out all these new studios. I feel like so many right now have amazing intro rates and then you can really see which one suits you best. i just got a new camera not too long ago. i got the canon sd780is. i loveee it!
I know, right? The intro rates are so good but it’s too bad that there’s no such thing as an inexpensive yoga studio!
Are you aware of any good yoga studios in the Acworth area?
