Making you wait to hear about THE Nutella milkshake is cruel and unusual punishment. Unless, of course, you’re like my one boss and you don’t like Nutella. Well, that’s just weird.
We finally went to Flip Burger Boutique last weekend for lunch. We stopped in before on a Thursday night, but the line was out the door so we didn’t stay.

Well, we went around 2:00 on Saturday, and sure enough, there was a 25 minute wait. I love sitting at the bar anywhere we go, so I just stood near the bar and snagged two seats within 5 minutes.

TWO SEATS directly in front of the milkshake station. Yes, this woman really did make milkshake after milkshake after milkshake.
I loved the restaurant’s decor- it was modern, but simple. Do you see the mirrors on the wall? They were so cool… the one to the right was actually a TV, so we watched part of the Olympics while we were there.

I read about the milkshakes somewhere before, so I already knew that I was going to order a Nutella + burnt marshmallow shake. They had probably 6-8 milkshakes on the menu; Krispy Kreme also looked really good.

I DIE.

Eating the marshmallows made me feel like I was sitting at a campfire!

I ordered the turkey burger, which had avocado, tomato, sprouts and pomegranate ketchup on it. It was bursting with flavor. At first, I thought the burger was on the small side, but it ended up being the perfect size. The homeade pomegranate ketchup was so creative and really tasty.

Chomp!

On the side, I had a simple yet delicious beet and goat cheese salad. Tobey ordered zucchini fries, but I didn’t end up tasting them.

I loved this place- the price point was right (my burger was $6.50, the salad was $4, and the milkshake was $6) and we couldn’t stop gushing about the whole concept. You could easily go in there, each order a burger, share a side or two, share a milkshake, and both be PERFECTLY content.
As you can see, there was nothing that I didn’t like about this restaurant. Luckily, it’s out of the way for me or I’d be stopping in often for a shake!
What do you look for in a restaurant? Atmosphere, quality, price or some combination of things?

I love FLIP – their Krispy Kreme milkshakes are out of control! And I love their homemade pickles. It’s such a fun place.
I had the turkey burger there too. I loved how it wasn’t huge. It looked small at first, but then you realize that it’s the perfect size.
I took for quality in restaurants. If it’s economically priced, that’s a major plus too.
oh my. i may have to drop everything and drive back to atl tomorrow after work for that milkshake. either that, or after the GA ING Marathon next month, I’m going there and getting your milkshake AND the krispy kreme.
Ok, that’s it. I need to go there. I think we need to have our next bloggie meetup there!
I totally agree! Milkshake tasting, anyone?
Wow that burger looks amazing and I don’t even eat meat! Oh my. I think I go for quality of food in restaurants and price but atmosphere definitely plays a part too but maybe not as much. Soooo all three I guess. Service is pretty important too. If the server totally ignores us or isn’t nice and welcoming, I’m not likely to go back.
I need Flip to come to LA because I am just in awe of how good the food looks, how nice the restaurant is, and how reasonable the prices are!
We look for restaurants with pretty varied menus since we are a picky bunch. If Maya is with us I like to find places that aren’t too formal so that nobody shoots us dirty looks!
PS – thank you so much for your nice comment! I am going to make Ali read it.
