It’s raining, it’s pouring… it just can’t seem to stop raining in Atlanta!
I just have some highlights from the weekend- it was my 26th birthday yesterday and I fully enjoyed it! I loved that my birthday fell on a Saturday this year… that meant that I got to celebrate all weekend.
On Friday night, we went to see the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Trombone Shorty at Smith’s Olde Bar. The music was great, but what I loved more was that the upstairs was non-smoking! I don’t like going out that much because Atlanta is behind on the times and smoky bars DRIVE. ME. NUTS.

Trombone Shorty!

On Saturday, Tobey and I went to Souper Jenny’s for lunch. Yes, the line was out the door and yes, it was worth it. I got “My Dad’s Turkey Chili.”

After lunch, we went to Lululemon, where I proceeded to try on everything in the store. (Hey! It was my birthday!) I’ve never bought anything before because I’ve heard that it’s addicting, so I may become an addict now. I got a pair of Groove pants (they’re being hemmed so I don’t have them yet), a tank top, and a gym bag. Have you been bitten by the Lululemon bug yet?
Oh, and there has been plenty of this all weekend…

Red velvet, red velvet!

One piece per day keeps the doctor away, right? I sent the rest of the cake home with my dad and brother tonight… and mom, too, if they don’t finish it before she gets to it.

This morning, we went to Rosebud for brunch. How cute is this ketchup bottle?

I ordered the breakfast bowl- it had grits, bacon, cherry tomatoes, poached egg and cheddar cheese in it. Total comfort food in a bowl.

Tonight, I met my family for church and then we went to Atlanta Fish Market for dinner. I didn’t take any pictures because the lighting was so low – so low that the menus were hard to read – but I had the chopped salad and the california roll.
I hope that you have a great start to the week…
Night!

looks like fun!
I am actually pretty against lululemon because of their sizing. I don’t think they are realistic about the size women that actually practice yoga and it just perpetuates the “must be thin” attitude in America.
After I read your comment, I googled “lululemon, the size debate” and read some pretty interesting articles. I did think the sizing was odd (number sizes vs letter sizes make it more intense, in my opinion), and it’s upsetting to think that they only cater to certain men/women.
O.M.G. That cake is gorgeous!! What an adorable way to package it up too with the server on top like that!!
Glad you had a nice birthday weekend!! I agree – smoky bars are NO good. Blah.
I’ve never seen a Lululemon store before. Only heard about it on Heather Eats Almond Butter’s blog. I would love to try it out though. I do love getting new workout clothes!! They are so motivating!!
P.S. Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. You are so sweet Laura and your words have really meant a lot to me.
There is a store on Highland Ave… I definitely recommend checking it out, but it’s much more fun when you get to pick a few things out for your birthday.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone there and just looked b/c the prices aren’t very budget-friendly!
Hey hey hey, happy birthday!
I’m not a huge fan of the smoky bars here either. I mean…I don’t smoke for a reason, you know?
Um, that red velvet looks TO DIE FOR! I love red velvet cake and now I’m tempted to pick one up for V-Day next month.
Thanks! They sell individual cupcakes and slices of cake, so GO FOR IT.
Um first, happy birthday! Second, LOVE and am recently obsessed with Lulu, have only bought two things from there so far but LOVE the fit and the look. Makes the butt look pretty hot, I must say
And ps. DYING to try red velvet cake, have never had it before, believe it or not!
Thank you! Okay, red velvet cake cracks me up b/c it seems so unique but it’s really just chocolate cake w/ red food coloring!
Happy Birthday!
The upstairs of Smith’s is non-smoking? That’s awesome. I’ve gone to many shows up there (not for a while, obviously) and the smoke was horrible. I wish Atlanta would get with the program regarding smoking.
Yum, Piece of Cake.
I know! Philly and Pittsburgh are both non-smoking, so I was totally bummed when I moved here and realized that Atlanta isn’t. It just amazes me that a big city like this can be so behind on the times!
