Today started out like any other day…

Breakfast-
- 1/2 c oats
- 3/4 cup water
- frozen raspberries
- cinnamon
- 1 tbs peanut butter (added after pic was taken)
The craziest thing happened at work today. I asked our compliance guy to sign off on something, and he looked at me and said, “So, what are you going to Philly for?”
And I said, “What do you mean?” (The wheels are turning in my head… I talk with him pretty often, but I never told him that I’m going to Philly?! I start to get hot at this point.)
He then said, “You’re going to Philly with Tobey from Dec 11th-13th? What are you going there for?”
Me: “Oh, uhh, to meet my baby niece or nephew. My sister’s having a baby any day now!” AHA… I just booked it yesterday; he read my email!
He smirked (part of his job is to monitor emails, so this was more normal than it sounds) and I panicked. Just goes to show that big brother is always watching reading… yikes!
After work, I had a Luna bar before Yoga 2. I love this flavor- I remember thinking that I was going to be bummed if it was just a seasonal flavor, so I’m glad that it stuck around!

David (the instructor) read about patience tonight before class.
“Patience is a virtue.”
Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to be patient, even though it seems so simple. What are we always rushing to? Why are we always worrying about the past, or the future? Why do we need the answer to everything, five minutes ago? And if we don’t get it right away, then why do we obsess over it?
I really focused on his words during class. Every time I started to wonder why we were holding the pose for so long, I tried to embrace it, and I could feel my stress float away. It’s the coolest thing- sometimes the most challenging poses are the most physically and mentally rewarding. It felt like slowly, little blocks of weight were coming off of my body.
Do you struggle with being patient? How do you calm your worries?
One thing I wasn’t patient for? Well, I couldn’t help but wonder if I was going to get out of class and see a missed call or text…
BECAUSE MY SISTER HAD HER BABY TONIGHT!
Colin John – 6:01 pm – 9 lbs, 3 oz
I had a feeling it was going to be a boy, but I didn’t know for sure until tonight!
Congrats Jenn & John!

Love!
-Aunt Laura

Congrats to your sister. And to your for being a new aunt.
And um, creepy about the compliance guy. Even if it is his job.
Well hello there, Auntie Laura!!
What a sweet picture!!
That was way creepy of that guy to ask you about Philly. Like Lee said, even if it is his job, it’s still not his business really, ya know?? Bizarre…
I definitely struggle with patience. You know about my situation right now and the way I’m dealing with it is reaching out to those around me for support, praying, and aromatherapy, puppies, snuggies, and pumpkin bread help too!
Congrats on being an aunt!
I think the guy was creepy to ask you about something you wrote in a personal email….crossing the line a little….
Congrats, Auntie!
Nieces and nephews are the best – you get to spoil them as much as you want and then give ‘em back!!!
ahhhhhhhh! Congrats! What a beautiful baby. That is so weird that they read your emails in detail? Shady. Love the lessons from yoga. I have little patience but am always working on it!
CONGRATS on your sister having her baby! SO PRECIOUSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! so happy for your family!
I just touched on the topic of patience in my post today. I struggle with it so much!
